Exchange Online Mailflow Connector

Configure mail flow using connectors in Exchange Online | Microsoft Learn

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Log in as an Admin to the O365 Exchange Admin Centre (admin.exchange.microsoft.com).

2. Navigate to Message Flow > Connectors.

1. Set Up the Connector:

   • From: Office 365.

   • To: Partner Organization.

2. Name the Connector: YOUR ARCHIVE Connector.

3. Scope the Connector:

   • Select "Only when email messages are sent to these domains".

   • Enter the domain as yourarchive.cloud.

4. Route the Connector:

   • Select "Route Email Through These Hosts".

   • Depending on the region, use the appropriate host:

     • Region: smtp.region.yourarchive.cloud

5. Set TLS Settings / Security restrictions:

   • Select "Always use Transport Layer Security (TLS) to secure the connection (recommended)".

   • Ensure the certificate is issued by a trusted Certificate Authority (CA).

   • Enter smtp.region.yourarchive.cloud for the SAN (Subject Alternative Name) validation.

6. Validate the Connector:

   • Use the journaling email (e.g., [e-mail]) to validate the connection.
