# Journaling from Exchange Online

Journaling copies emails before delivery and sends the copies to an external service like YOUR ARCHIVE.

1. **Log in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center**:
   * Go to [https://compliance.microsoft.com](https://compliance.microsoft.com/) and sign in with Global Admin credentials.
2. **Navigate to the Compliance Admin Center**:
   * Click **Solutions** in the left-hand pane.
   * Go to **Data Lifecycle Management** > **Exchange (legacy) > Journal Rules**.
3. **Create a Journal Rule**:
   * Select **New Rule** to open the rule creation dialog.

   * **Name the Rule**: Provide a descriptive name such as "YOUR ARCHIVE Journal Rule."
   * **Journal Recipients**: Set the rule to journal messages sent or received by **Everyone**.

   * **Journal Destination**: Enter the journaling email address provided by YOUR ARCHIVE (e.g., `companytag@yourarchive.cloud`).
   * **Journal Scope**: Ensure the rule applies to **All Messages**.
4. Save and submit the rule. Activation may take up to 15 minutes.
